Stainless Steel

A popular choice that lasts a long time. There is a wide variety of stainless steel sinks, from those at the cheaper, contract end (those that have a drainer like a spring board) to the designer end that look good as well as being functional. Granite / Coloured Sinks

The original coloured sinks had a limited life, materials like Asterite give good looks by colour co-ordination but have a life of around 5 years depending upon how much care they are given. Ceramic sinks

The original sink material. Belfast sinks & Butler sinks were common in many homes this century and their glazed surface continues to make them practical in schools. They also look very good in a traditional kitchen, although there is a risk of chipping if you drop the saucepan. For a more modern look with the easy to clean ceramic surface there is a range of inset ceramic sinks too. They are available in single bowl or bowl and a half.
